No. 1 UCLA Dominates No. 8 UMD, Extends Streak to 20 Wins.

In a highly anticipated matchup, No. 1 UCLA extended their winning streak to 20 games with a commanding 82-67 victory over No. 8 Maryland. The game, held in the heart of the DMV, marked a special homecoming for UCLA guard Kiki Rice, who shined in front of a hometown crowd.

Rice, debuted her second Player Edition (PE) Jordan sneakers, delivered a stellar all-around performance. She stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, electrifying the arena with her poise and playmaking.

While Rice’s homecoming was a headline, a huge night for Lauren Betts. The dominant forward posted a career-high 33 points, showcasing her efficiency with a near-perfect 15-16 shooting from the field and an impressive 5-6 from the free-throw line. Betts was a force in the paint, leaving the Maryland defense scrambling for answers.

The Bruins’ suffocating defense and balanced offensive attack proved too much for the Terrapins, who struggled to find consistency against the nation’s top-ranked team. With this victory, UCLA continues to solidify its position as a title contender.

As the Bruins look ahead to their next challenge, their chemistry and depth remain key factors in their remarkable season. For now, fans are left in awe of the duo of Rice and Betts, whose performances continue to set the standard for college basketball excellence.
