KNIGHTS 4, LOBOS 2: Behind four first-half goals—two by senior Austin Gourrier, one by senior Henry Plum and one by sophomore Eli Dickey—the boys varsity soccer team earned a decisive road victory at Lehman on Jan. 17.
 
Gourrier said the non-district win proved the team is finding its rhythm for the rest of the season.

“It was the first game that we really saw all that we could do together as a team,” Gourrier said. “We were positioning ourselves very well, and we were trading off and helping each other a lot.”

Gourrier, a team captain, said he looks forward to his final season as a Knight and is excited about the team’s spirit.

“This was my first time scoring two in one game this season,” Gourrier said. “It felt really good, and I was glad I could put [the ball] in the net.”

After playing Navarro to a scoreless draw on Saturday morning, the Knights resume district play, hoping to get their first district win of the season against LASA on Wednesday at Nelson Field.

The Raptors opened district play with a 1-0 win over Anderson on Saturday.
