As Portland's famed Belmont Goats reach their final years, the herd is looking for a permanent home.

The goats need water and gate access so they can be easily removed if they need care.

Jess Kurtz, one of the owners and caretakers of the herd, hopes to keep them in the city of Portland.

“They are Portland’s resident herd,” she said.

The goats have had offers of places on farms outside of town, where they could live out their days, Kurtz said, but first the nonprofit behind the goats will consider places within the city.
