BASE | (SCHEDULE) Baseball Hopes Recent Success Serves Them Well in 2025

Susquehanna University's baseball team is looking forward to continuing their effectiveness on the diamond as they compete for the conference title this season. With the memories of their 2023 Landmark Conference championship season still fresh, the team looks to build on their resilience from 2024 with a crossover of new and returning talent that should surprise their opposition. 

Susquehanna University will rely on returning talent to the team, as well as calling on some familiar faces due to play bigger roles. The team also welcomed in this year a batch of first-years and transfers that they hope can contribute day one. 

The competitive schedule should allow the River Hawks to establish themselves as contenders as they compete for the coveted Landmark Championship later this season. This year's tournament will take place in Lancaster, Pa. at Clipper Magazine Stadium, home to the Lancaster Stormers. 

The program accomplished a record of 21-22 in the 2024 season, with a 15-9 conference record. The team entered the postseason as the four seed in 2024, defeating Drew 8-7 in the 11th inning of the Landmark play-in game to earn the final spot for the Landmark Conference Tournament. The River Hawks waged great battles at the tournament, including another extra-inning marathon against top-seeded Elizabethtown. 

Head coach Denny Bowers is back for his 20th season leading the River Hawks, etching a 357-376-2 overall record with four Landmark titles in 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2023. He is joined this year by a new coaching staff in assistant coaches Vinnie Morelli, Josh Knight, and Troy Allen.
