#shotdeckrecreations 
Recreated a shot from Creed (2015) for my first submission to the @shotdeck shot recreation contest! 

We went to the actual exact location of the shot in North Philly they used in the movie for this scene, which was somewhat difficult to find because it is a few blocks from the given shooting location online and the area has changed quite a bit since they filmed the movie (as you can see in the pic)! Thankfully we showed a passing local this shot and she knew exactly where it was down to the address just by looking at the door, which was insanely awesome. 

After that, we drove over to Front Street Gym and started setting up the shot. Being a sunny day, we didn’t have too much control over the light so we went with natural lighting for the shot and focused more on getting the angles and staging right. We even had to fend off some passing cars as we shot it from the middle of the street (which is still very much active) and we used a wide lens and aspect ratio so we had the camera quite far away!

It was so fun tracking down this location and recreating this shot! I will be doing more shot recreations throughout the month for the contest, with all the submissions being films shot and/or set in Philadelphia and mostly in the actual locations of the scene if I’m able to find them! I want to celebrate Philly filmmaking and show some pride for the city with all my submissions this month. I’m so excited to share more shots with you guys soon!
