#FunFactFriday: The bald eagle wasn’t officially declared America’s national bird until December 24, 2024! 🦅

While it’s been a symbol of the United States since appearing on the Great Seal in 1782, it wasn’t legally recognized as the national bird until this recent legislation. A true icon of freedom and resilience, the bald eagle’s story is also a conservation success — soaring back from near extinction to grace the skies of our parks and wild spaces.
