The original home on this Maryland historic property was built in 1888 and was reported to have been the real estate office for the Chevy Chase Land Company. Fast forward to 2021, this home was considered a non-contributing resource to the historic community, which allowed designer katyandersoninteriors along with the talented team of architects, thomsoncooke, to design an extraordinary custom home. They collaborated with award-winning builders, zuckerman_builders, to help their clients realize their dream home that was perfectly styled by kristihunter and beautifully captured by stacyzaringoldberg. They consider this home to be a jewel in this beloved neighborhood and while this is new construction, it is perfectly proportioned and resembles a home that would have been built during the historic era. We love how they chose to preserve history with the home’s design when restoring the existing structure wasn’t feasible.

“What stands apart for our team is that these wonderful clients had 100% trust in our vision and our work. This made our job extremely rewarding and allowed us to be as creative as possible. Working with a blank slate is invigorating and challenging, and we dug-in deep to create charming spaces throughout their 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Our clients embraced beautiful white oak accents, elaborate millwork, layers of lighting, fabulous textiles, wallpapers, and historic colors in almost every room. While we do have many neutral spaces, we were able to incorporate a great deal of vibrant accents in each and every room. Details were endless and embraced them all.” - Katy
