Two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields made history on Sunday night, becoming the first ever undisputed heavyweight champion in women’s boxing.

The American outpointed Danielle Perkins, having been in command throughout the bout and knocking down her opponent with a vicious right hook with 15 seconds left in the 10th and final round.

Now 16-0 with three knockouts, Shields has also been undisputed world champion at middleweight and light-middleweight, making her the first boxer – male or female – to have held undisputed status across three different divisions in the four-belt era, according to Sky Sports.
