Don’t get me wrong – I have nothing against ChatGPT. The problem is that most companies don’t know how to use it well.

What you’re doing wrong ⬇️

➡️ You type up a social media content prompt (probably taken from a viral social media management influencer video), then copy and paste it into your content calendar.

Here’s why that’s wrong ⬇️

Hundreds of other businesses are doing the same thing – which means you’re all posting the same exact content.

Algorithms are starting to prioritize original content over AI-generated captions, so your content gets far less reach.

Here’s the thing: Potential customers can spot AI-generated content from a mile away.

When they see that, your authenticity disappears.

They automatically feel like you’re just here to gain followers and make money.

You don’t care about them.

What you should do instead ⬇️

➡️ Use ChatGPT as a source of inspiration: Ask for content prompts that help you start the process on your own.

➡️ Use ChatGPT as an editor: Input your first draft and ask it to adjust the tone, voice or messaging. It’s always better to start with the human element first, not the other way around.

➡️ Use a ghostwriting approach: Instead of writing content for your business, write content as your business. Talk to someone (a friend, a colleague, a writer, yourself) about what you do and what sets your business apart, then use bits and pieces of that to write content.

This is the best way to create content that is natural and authentic – unlike everyone else on your feed.

(& hey, if you’re looking for an expert social media ghostwriter to write content for your business that really sounds like you – you know where to find me.)
