Maddy is a dominant goalkeeper from Seabrook, Texas. She played five seasons of college soccer at Mississippi State University, accumulating over 8,100 minutes of game time. During her career, she set program records for goalkeeper minutes played in a single season (2,092), shutouts in a single season (11), shutouts in a career (28), career wins (48) and most goalkeeper starts in program history (83). She also holds university career records for goals against average (0.84) and save percentage (79%).

While at Mississippi State, Maddy won the SEC Championship and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2024. Maddy has received numerous individual accolades, as well. She is a three-time All-Conference player, was named to the All-Tournament and All-Freshman teams, has been recognized as the SEC Defensive Player of the Week on 7 occasions and twice on the TDS Team of the Week. In 2024, she was named the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year. Maddy also captained her side during both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Finally, she is a Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree and CSC Academic All-American.

Maddy has a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a master of science in sports pedagogy. She enjoys painting, playing with her cat, shopping and fishing. She knows how to Speed Stack, she played (American) football in high school and her initials MJ (Madelynn Jewel) are after Michael Jordan. She was a forward for eight years before becoming a goalkeeper.
