Brooke is a Leading Senior Constable, working within the Shepparton Proactive Policing Unit. She also wears the title of a LGBTIQA+ Liaison Officer (LLO), one of over 500 at Victoria Police! ⁣
⁣
We recently caught up with Brooke to see how she was celebrating Midsumma. ⁣
⁣
🌈: Your favourite thing about Midsumma? ⁣
B: That it brings the many different communities of Victoria together and celebrates our differences and what unites us! ⁣
⁣
🌈: What does the LLO role mean to you? ⁣
B: I love being an LLO! I have friends, family and co-workers in the community and as an ally, I get to champion, support, advise, learn and celebrate LGBTIQA+ inclusion, diversity, and gender equality. ⁣
 ⁣
In my LLO role I’m passionate about building stronger and positive relationships between the LGBTIQA+ communities and Victoria Police. ⁣
 ⁣
🌈: Why is it important to have LGBTIQA+ representation within the force? ⁣
B: Representation in priority communities such as LGBTIQA is a reflection of our Victorian Community: Diversity and inclusion brings news ideas, culture, and lived experiences, whilst treating people, their values, beliefs, culture and lifestyle with respect. ⁣
⁣
 🌈: When you’re not off duty, what are you doing. ⁣
B: I love spending time with family, friends, travelling Victoria and overseas, and I have a Boston Terrier- who is full of attitude! ⁣
⁣
Midsumma Pride Street Party is on this Sunday in Collingwood. 🎉 ⁣
⁣
Our members will be there as we celebrate the solidarity of our diverse groups, personalities and sexuality. If you need assistance, look out for our LLO members in their rainbow uniform. ⁣
