Nine Raiders represented Riverwood at the State 5A Swimming Championships preliminary round on Friday, February 7, at Georgia Tech.

🔹The relay team of Freshman Skyelar Richards, Sophomores Caroline Kittrell and Katie Kessell and Senior Kenzie Robinson set a new school record in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The new record of 3:40.89 bested the previous mark, set in 2023.

🔹The same foursome were the second fastest in the qualifiers in the 200 Free Relay, just .33 seconds behind top seed Lassiter. Riverwood won this race last year when we were in the 6A division. It is going to be a fast final!

🔹In the 200 Medley Relay, Riverwood did not make it into the finals but each member of the group (Junior Rowan Neece, Sophomore Juliet Martin, Freshman Megan Murden and Senior Ellie Ryan) each had personal world records on their relay splits in a fine showing.

🔹In individual events, the following swimmers will return to the finals on Saturday, February 8th at 6 PM at Georgia Tech.

▪️Kenzie Robinson – qualified 2nd in the 50 Free and 7th in the 100 Back

▪️Katie Kessell – 8th in the 200 Free and 8th in the 100 Back

▪️Caroline Kittrell – 16th in the 200 Individual Medley and 16th in the 500 Free

▪️Skyelar Richards – 3rd in the 50 Free and the 100 Free
