For today’s #SaturdaySnapshot, we’re taking a look back at Cape Coral’s rich history with a story from Paul Sanborn, who managed the entire yacht club complex, including the Teen Club. 

In this vintage photo, Paul is seen playing chess with his daughter, Carol, and a young man, Tom Brubaker. Paul fondly remembers how much pride the young people had in their Teen Club and how seriously they took their responsibilities. 

Once, after a window was broken, Paul cleared and locked the club until the teens identified the culprit. Within hours, they returned with the guilty party. The teen who broke the window was sent home with his parents, and the rest of the group was let back into the building.
