Current and future Holt High School athletes will no longer be shuffled elsewhere in the Tuscaloosa County School System after residents fought against a plan to end athletics there.

Parents, alumni, athletes and residents were stunned last week when TCSS sent out a statement Feb. 5 to parents announcing the end of Holt High's varsity athletics programs after the 2025-26 school year so the school could transition to a career training and STEM-focused model.
