2 years. #spartanstrong 

This is a series of photos I took on my phone that document the timeline of that night. 

A photo I took of my friend katie_denzin just minutes before we got the alert. I see this photo and it feels like a very distinct line was drawn. It is a relic of my life “before”. The last photo I have in my camera roll before our lives changed. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day at work.

A blurry, dark photo of my coworkers and I huddled under our desks at work, just steps away from Berkey Hall. We sat there for almost 5 hours listening to the police scanner and trying to comfort each other. 

The scene outside Berkey hall as we were released from our building and were walking back to our cars. 

A photo of my smudged, dirty glasses I took when I finally got back to my childhood home with my parents. 

Crazy to think that to everyone outside of our Spartan bubble, we were just a passing headline. It doesn’t have to be like this. There doesn’t have to be an ever-growing club of people who have been affected by gun violence. A club that is becoming less exclusive by the day.
