The last Merseyside derby ever to be held at Goodison Park ended in suitably dramatic fashion on Wednesday night, as Everton’s James Tarkowski smashed home an equalizer in the 98th minute to make it 2-2 and ensure Liverpool and the Toffees would share the points.

Chaos continued after the final whistle, as Everton's Abdoulaye Doucouré raced over to celebrate in front of Reds fans, and Curtis Jones sprinted over to confront him. Both were shown red cards, along with Liverpool manager Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff.

After Alexis Mac Allister had canceled out Beto’s early goal, the Reds thought they were going nine points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to Mohamed Salah’s 73rd-minute goal, only to be denied by Tarkowski’s late strike.
