This iconic moment from the 1960 U.S. Open at Cherry Hills is more than just a celebration—it’s a piece of golf and presidential history. 

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a passionate golfer and frequent Cherry Hills visitor, watched as his friend Arnold Palmer charged to victory with a legendary final round. Eisenhower’s love for the game helped popularize golf in America, just as Palmer’s win inspired a new generation of players. 

At the Colorado Golf Association, we continue to honor this legacy by making golf more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for golfers across the state.
