Congratulations to the student-athletes of the week! 📚

🤸‍♀️ On senior day, fifth-year maddiecjohnston tied her career high with a 9.9 on vault, set a season high with a 9.875 on balance beam, and added a solid 9.8 on bars to help No. 25 pennstatewgym upset No. 22 Ohio State at home in Rec Hall. Penn State amassed a 196.525 total, its highest team score of the season, thanks in part to the efforts of Johnston and her senior teammates. Johnston’s career-best vault tally led the Nittany Lions to a 49.225 team score on the apparatus, the group’s first 49-plus score of the season.

🏃‍♂️ ajanidwyer made his presence felt at the national level, finishing sixth in the United States in the 60-meter dash at the USATF Indoor Championships on Sunday. The 18-year-old freshman’s 6.54 mark tied the school record in the event set last year by former Nittany Lion All-American Cheickna Traore. In collegiate competition, Dwyer ranks inside the top ten this season in both the 60 and 200-meter dash events. The Sewell, N.J. native will return to pennstatetfxc as they travel to compete in the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Indianapolis this coming weekend.
