CREW SPOTLIGHT

🌟 We’re highlighting some of the regular faces seen on our sets that make every project possible. This week, we’re spotlighting Gaffer and jack-of-all-trades, michaelabel289!

🎥 Who is Michael?
Michael is a multidisciplinary creative that loves to collaborate. Before he got into the production industry, he was a music teacher and audio system designer at Fishers and Carmel high schools. He transitioned to video production following the pandemic, and found that a lot of his skill sets transferred over to the production world. Michael loves the problem solving opportunities that the video production industry demands, and his deep understanding of audio, video, and lighting make him a very versatile addition to our team!

🔧 What makes their role special?
Mike works in a variety of production departments. He began his production career in the audio department, transferring over his existing skills as a live sound engineer. He then gravitated to the camera department, then to lighting. Mike's diverse set of skills allow him to fill whatever position gaps necessary on sets. Whether setting up rigging, creative practical VFX systems, running a camera or boom mic, or anything in-between, Mike's ability to work as a Swing helps every production end in success.

🌐 A favorite moment or project?
"My favorite project with FLB was the 48hr short film SLAY, which just had a little bit of everything. Having green screen comps and steadicam shots in a 48 hour film was pretty ambitious, and we pulled it off well. The cast and crew were so much fun to be around as well!"
