These photos, especially the first one, I have found difficult to post. I got permission to share the first image, and while I am very aware of the risks and dangers associated with protest imagery, I feel it’s important to humanize this issue.

I will never truly grasp this man’s plight, or what it means to witness family, friends, people that look like me be mercilessly butchered. While the rest of the world questions the death toll, and finds ways to fund the slaughter.

But when I look into this man’s eyes and see his strength, I want to do whatever I can to make sure there’s a world for his children to grow up in. A world where they have a place to call home, a place where there safety is never in question.
