To conclude our Black History Month campaign, we want to celebrate and commemorate the work of African Americans and Black leaders who have cultivated joy through the businesses, organizations, and spaces they’ve built and nurtured.⁠

But how can we honor the labor of Black communities beyond Black History Month? What does that look like in practice?⁠
⁠
✨ Support Black-owned businesses that can elevate your next gathering! Community matters, and so does checking in on one another. Consider how play, joy, and connection can be woven into the spaces you share. Here are some amazing Black-owned and Black-founded businesses to bring to your next gathering!⁠

✨ Invest in Black art and organizations that nurture creative spaces. Art is a powerful tool for expression, inspiration, and resistance. Support Black artists locally—visit Black-owned galleries, attend Black-led theater productions, or take a class at a Black-owned dance studio. Research and uplift the Black creative spaces in your area!⁠

✨ Prioritize movement and well-being. Caring for our bodies—whether through dance, yoga, or any activity that speaks to you is meaningful. Seek out Black-owned wellness spaces that center joy, activity and healing.⁠

✨ Embrace rest as resistance. Rest is essential, and honoring it is a radical act. Take a nap, recharge, and explore The Nap Ministry to learn more about rest as a form of liberation.⁠
