Debuting at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show, the Jaguar XK120 was an instant sensation. Originally conceived as a low-volume model, its breathtaking design and record-breaking performance quickly drove demand beyond expectations. As the world’s fastest production car at the time, the XK120’s initial ash-framed alloy body was soon replaced with a more durable steel construction. Powered by a 3.4-litre twin-overhead-camshaft six-cylinder engine, the XK120 set new benchmarks for comfort, handling, and outright speed—all at an unmatched price. Carefully prepared examples even surpassed their namesake speed, reaching up to 132.6 mph in testing.

This left-hand-drive XK120 was completed on January 29, 1953, and delivered to R.M. Overseas in Düsseldorf, Germany, equipped with a high-performance ‘C-Type’ cylinder head, boosting output to 210bhp. Undergoing a meticulous seven-year, concours-level restoration in the late 1980s, this XK120 was later sold at Bonhams’ Monaco auction in 2012. Now Jersey-registered, it remains in stunning Old English White with a red leather interior and chromed wire wheels. Recent enhancements by marque specialists include a disc brake conversion, uprated brakes, power steering, and an improved cooling system, making this a truly exceptional example of an iconic British sports car.
