## Caption

"We're a part of nature, and not apart from it." Artist and photographer @genesis__baez takes us through the process of creating her #BeyondConcrete installation Groundcover, showing us firsthand the reciprocal nature of the Gardiner Expressway and its surrounding landscape and how they can shape and impact each other.

Visit our link in bio to read a written feature by Báez with a behind-the-scenes look on the archival source images used and how she buried film negatives underground and more. Edited by Brian Sholis of @frontier.is as part of our ongoing story series exploring themes from our summer season.

Báez's first outdoor large-scale photographs is on display underneath the Gardiner at The Bentway, on now until September 24!
