Their leadership in forest conservation and advocacy has made Gunayala a model on the international stage. Despite challenges such as tourism pressures and rising sea levels, the Guna people continue to strengthen governance and environmental stewardship through training programs and projects that boost local autonomy. 

For the Guna, preserving this region is not only about conserving nature but also safeguarding their cultural heritage and future.
