Sometimes songs come through and it’s urgent. I felt like if I didn’t share this song, it would be a disservice. With everything going on in Tennessee, in this country, and in the world, it feels like there’s nothing more important than making it out alive. ‘MAKE IT OUT ALIVE’ is an important mantra for knowing that the only way out of this time is through it—and the only way through it is together.

As a qu33r artist, I’m acutely aware of the fights for human rights, dignity, and justice we’re facing. This song is for anyone feeling like they’re being pushed to the edges—whether because of who they are, where they’re from, or how they love. It’s about survival, strength, and finding solidarity in community.

I’ve always wanted to make music that blends folk with pop, and I’m so happy to launch this new era with this song, one that feels like it belongs to both the heart and the fight. Because in times like these, we need songs that remind us: we are not alone.
