This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating Women’s History Wednesdays, where each week we’ll be highlighting a different era of the W and the incredible women who helped build the league we know and love today.

The WNBA first tipped off in 1997 with some of the league’s greatest players and legends. Lisa Leslie, Teresa Weatherspoon, Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson helped pave the way for the next generation.
