🏆 Where Are They Now? Climate Corps Alumni Spotlight 🎓

From U.S. Climate Corps fellow at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. to now the recent Deputy Director for Partnerships, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), we’re thrilled to spotlight Joe Nyangon, Ph.D.'s sustainability journey. Please join us in celebrating his excellent work in sustainability and recent award! 

How Dr. Nyangon is making an impact:

⏳ As a fellow, Dr. Nyangon developed a tool for his host company’s franchise properties to evaluate energy and water use. This tool showed the business case for reducing consumption – expediting decision processes for leadership. Now as an alumnus, he continues advancing energy efficiency solutions through high-impact programs.

🏅 One of our 2024 William K. Bowes, Jr. Award for Leadership Awardees having demonstrated remarkable collaboration with national laboratories, state energy offices and private sector leaders to accelerate energy efficiency in his previous role at the U.S. Department of Energy. 

🌎 Why This Work Matters: To prevent the worst impacts of climate change, we must quickly limit temperature rise by cutting hashtag#GHG emissions across sectors. Many of our fellows are accelerating this transition through energy efficiency projects to reduce carbon footprints and save business costs. Dr. Nyangon is proof of our mission in action.
