"My educational journey at UC San Diego thus far has been anything but straightforward; yet, despite changing my major 3 times, I've finally found where I belong thanks to the diversity in extracurricular and classroom opportunities I've found here. I entered UC San Diego as a mechanical engineering major, but quickly realized that engineering wasn't for me. I switched my major to Biology after becoming interested in healthcare, and got the chance to write for several student-publications and even work in a neuroscience lab within my first 3 months on campus. Once again I realized that biology wasn't for me, and I continued my exploration. While I explored the academic offerings on campus, I continued to pursue my passion for landscape photography by exploring the beautiful natural wonders around La Jolla and San Diego, and met many friends along the way. In my second year, I learned about the Design program at UC San Diego and was instantly convinced that it was my major. It combined my love for visual art and problem solving and allowed me to meet many like-minded people within the COGS department and clubs like Design-Co. Having the freedom to explore different fields and communities undoubtedly allowed me to find my calling, and I'm so glad I chose UC San Diego."
