To our beloved North Carolina community,

Our hearts are with the nearly 1 million residents impacted by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene and all the first responders who are working hard on recovery efforts.

PBS North Carolina is working with state and local officials to share critical information and resources. Here are some important links, which will be shared to our Instagram Story as well:

For post-storm safety tips, visit: Ready.gov.

To find open shelters, county resources and more, visit the North Carolina Department of Public Safety’s Hurricane Helene webpage: ncdps.gov/our-organization/emergency-management/hurricane-helene

As many of our loved ones are without cell phone service and power, please consider sharing these resources the best you can. And as Fred Rogers once said, “Always look for the helpers. There will always be helpers. . . . If you look for the helpers, you will know that there’s hope.”
