Adventureland Inn, the hotel that accompanied Iowa's largest theme park for more than 50 years, will not reopen its doors.

The company announced Wednesday that Adventureland Inn in Altoona will close permanently, following its decision last November to shut down the Inn during the theme park's off-season.

"At Adventureland, we have continued to provide the best guest experience for our visitors through the addition of new events, new rides, attractions and on-going park-wide improvements," adventurelandresort General Manager Mike Lusky said in a statement to the Register.
