While some in Calgary opt for spring hiking in hopes of reduced crowds, anyone who loves being in the mountains is in it for the views 🏔️🥾⁠

This trail is less than an hour from Calgary and delivers on every single count… if you don’t mind a bit of a challenge.⁠

Prairie Mountain is an 8.4-km out-and-back trail with an elevation of 675 m near Bragg Creek. While it’s considered to be a moderately challenge route, it more than makes up for the sweat you’ll put into it.⁠
⁠
This trail is pretty popular thanks to its proximity to the city, but the real showstopper is the 360-degree views from the top. You’ll be able to see the many mountain ranges to the west and the prairies to the east. If it’s a clear day and you really squint, you might even spot downtown Calgary!⁠
