25 T-SHIRTS TO GIVE AWAY - READ BELOW 👇 Everyone IS welcome here. 

I usually try to avoid two things on This Is Boise - politics and religion. However, the recent news of West Ada School District teacher Sarah Inama being asked to remove an “Everyone is welcome here” sign got my attention.

I’m surprised the most that this has to be addressed at all. Being warm and welcoming is inherently NOT controversial. It’s the standard (or should be), and is especially important for children and students to learn at a young age.

Let’s be better. Let’s be the city and state that welcomes and respects people of any background and race. Treating others with respect and dignity is not an opinion, it’s just what’s right.

That said, there is an incredible community movement happening right now! Thousands of people are wearing t-shirts in support of a welcoming community on Monday, March 24th.
