Welcome back, #BULaw! We hope you enjoyed your spring break and are ready to tackle the second half of the semester. But first, let’s look back at some memorable moments from spring 2025 so far.
1. Gemma del Carmen (’25) delivered opening remarks at the International Law Journal’s annual symposium, titled "The Normalized Tragedy of Gun Violence: Addressing Legal Responses to Gun Violence in the United States and Abroad,” which brought together expert speakers and panelists from across the world.
2. Students laced up their skates for the second annual welcome back JD ice skating night at Agganis Arena.
3. Georgetown Law Professor Stephen Vladeck delivered the 2025 Annual Distinguished Lecture, titled “Fixing the Supreme Court Through Its Docket” to a packed audience of students, faculty, and staff in Barristers Hall.
4. #BULawProf Maureen Leo welcomed new students during the #BULLM spring orientation.
5. BU Law celebrated Henry Drembus (’25), Preetham Chippada (’25), Michael Gorman (’25), and #BULawProf coach Jen Taylor McCloskey for their historic win at the National Moot Court Competition with a party in the Charles River Room.
6. At the Clinical and Experiential Programs Open House, #BULawProf Caitlin Glass and other professors connected with students about #BULaw’s clinics, practicums, and externships.
7. We celebrated students who applied to clerkships at the annual OSCAR party. Can you tell which famous figures our #BULawProf dressed up as?
8. The Boston University Law Review held its spring symposium, titled "The Past, Present, and Future of US Immigration Law." #BULawProf and associate director of the Immigrants’ Rights and Human Trafficking Clinic Sarah Sherman-Stokes delivered the opening remarks.
9. 1L and 2L students gathered in the Atrium for the first ever Opportunities Fair, which offered a look at the opportunities available to 2Ls and 3Ls, including curricular offerings like clinics, externships, and concentrations, as well as co or extra-curricular opportunities like moot court, lawyering fellows, journals, student org leadership, and paid positions.
