透過投入「香港壹圓」硬幣啟動機關裝置以作為「盛演世界」的起點，更象徵香港貨幣發展史的傳奇。由劃時代的自動櫃員機中放出滾球，引領我們從創辦人湯馬士‧修打蘭（Thomas Sutherland）的書枱，隨著時間軌跡，穿過兩尊極具標誌性且富歷史意義的銅獅史提芬（Stephen）與施迪（Stitt），探索滙豐逾越百年的里程碑，當中包括六角形標誌的誕生、流通鈔票設計的演變、銀行從人手操作步向電子化服務的蛻變等關鍵時刻。

機關全程運行時間特意設定為160秒，以此致敬滙豐過去160年的光輝歲月。

The HSBC 160th Anniversary Rube Goldberg Machine is a remarkable installation, intricately composed of multiple complex mechanical devices, showcasing HSBC's rich history accumulated over 160 years.

⏰Opening hours: Monday – Friday (10:00am – 6:00pm)

To tie with the theme of "celebrating 160 years of great stories", the journey begins with the insertion of a "Hong Kong One Dollar" coin, representing the legacy of Hong Kong's currency evolution. An innovative automatic teller machine (“ATM”) releases a marble, guiding us from the desk of founder Thomas Sutherland through time. As we traverse the iconic bronze lions, Stephen and Stitt, we explore key milestones in HSBC's history. Highlights include the birth of the hexagonal logo, the evolution of banknote designs, and the transformation of banking from manual operations to electronic services.

The entire operation of the machine is deliberately set to 160 seconds, paying tribute to HSBC's illustrious 160-year past. The HSBC 160th Anniversary Rube Goldberg Machine installation will be on display starting March 3, 2025, at the HSBC headquarters in Central.
