Bruna Junqueira ’27 reflects on her Winter Term micro-internship:

"My internship experience working with the Cleveland Public Market Corporation at the West Side Market was a particularly meaningful one to me. Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Cleveland has always been somewhat of a familiar place to me, but I've never had the chance to understand the city on a greater level until now. In coming to the Market each week, learning about its history, and getting to know a handful of the business owners and their stories, I came to have a deeper appreciation and understanding for the city and its people. Speaking to the merchants behind the stands, including those who've been there for generations and those who've only been there in the past couple of years, was enlightening. More than that, I'm incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with these wonderful people, and to tell their stories, in their own words. With this internship, not only did I get a glimpse into working in a non-profit, but I was able to incorporate my interests in history, the political and social sciences, and creative writing. It was an unforgettable experience that I'll remember fondly."
