Thanksgiving is coming up. Holiday family gatherings are joyous for many and can also be a political minefield. I believe that we can keep discourse respectful by listening and practicing empathy. 
As the chair of the Attorney General Alliance, I am spearheading the Ginsburg-Scalia Initiative to celebrate the spirit of respectful discourse modeled by these two justices. Like Justices Ginsburg and Scalia, attorneys general are grounded in a commitment to the rule of law and are well-positioned to resist toxic political polarization.
This week, let's follow their lead when conflicts arise at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
