Meet Monica De Mattos, a Third Cook, one of the many dedicated people making your meals at Carney! She has been a part of BC Dining for nearly 11 years, and is originally from Portugal!

Her journey to BC was fateful—one day, when walking by campus with a friend, she told her, “I’m going to work here.” Despite the challenges, she made it happen! For Monica, BC Dining is more than just a job-it’s a source of joy and pride. Whether cooking breakfast and lunch or helping her team, she always brings her best.

When asked about her greatest joys in life, Monica talked about watching her four kids grow up, succeed, and start families of their own.
