Take a peek inside the Indianapolis lab of Reilly Rising Star Associate Professor Babak Anasori.

Purdue students in Anasori’s labs in Indianapolis and West Lafayette are exploring — and creating — materials at the smallest scale. These nanomaterials, called MXenes (pronounced “Maxines”), can be used in energy storage and generation, biomedicine, aerospace, and hypersonics.

Students are also using MXenes for creative expression, resulting in a new art form known as nanoart.
