Mr. Bruce and I found oyster mushrooms out in the swamp while gatoring! 

These mushrooms are edible and my favorite way to cook them is fried!

Oyster mushrooms grow in shelf-like formations on decaying stumps, logs, and trunks of deciduous trees.

They have an oyster-shaped cap, hence the name, with gills that run down the stem.

They typically grow with overlapping clusters that are white to light brown with firm, white flesh. They smell slightly sweet, like licorice.
