I absolutely love this confident and smooth poke check by jake30oettinger . In order to be effective with a poke check, you have to know your range. Hockey is a game of time and space and, in many instances, goaltenders have gotten into the habit of playing percentages and allowing Shooters to stickhandle in close proximity. Hockey is a game of time and space. As a goaltender, your job is to take it away.

For the goaltenders out there, especially the young ones, you have a free virtual classroom with these elite athletes in nhl . I, alone as a coach, have gathered four clips from this game that I know I will use as reference points during teaching segments during our summer camps.
