I don’t know about you, but I would rather give my kids plenty of opportunities to make small choices before the time comes that they need to make the big ones. ⭐️Kids don’t learn to make good decisions without ever having the opportunity to practice.⭐️

➡️I know it’s scary to give up control but think about it:  When children get to choose things for themselves, they start believing in their own judgment, figure out how to think critically, and learn from what happens naturally. They get practice weighing options, which helps them become independent and believe in themselves. Plus, it shows them you respect and value who they are, which makes them feel more capable.
❤️So many of you have had sucess with taking steps to build your child’s independence at home & I’m so proud of you for giving it a shot. If you want your child’s behavior to change for the better, and you want to build a deeper relationship with them, it starts with shifting your role from controlling to collaborating.
💡You don’t have to get it right all the time, just keep showing up, it matters.
