⭐️When you teach your toddler that their actions matter, you are planting the seeds to have a teenager and an adult who is clear, confident and takes action. 
♥️Double tap if you want to raise a child who SPEAKS UP when something is uncomfortable/ unfair/ unsafe for themselves or others? ⁣

😫If your toddler just bit you, speak up. “Ouch, biting hurts.” It might feel uncomfortable to speak up. It might be easier in the moment to say, “ Oh, you silly goose!” but then you would be distracting them from the real issue at hand.
📢We want our children to speak up for themselves, right? ⁣
You want them to speak up for others, right?⁣
This is how they learn. ⁣
🙉Don’t tell them they are silly and then giggle if what you really mean is that you are embarrassed and you wish they’d stop lifting your dress in the supermarket.⁣
🛑Stop tiptoeing around your child and say what you mean.  Speak kindly and truthfully, but ⁣speak up and say what you mean. ⁣
👀Show them how to stand up for themselves and others by modeling it yourself.⁣
