There are so many cool folklores surrounding brooms! One I’ve always followed is to never bring an old broom into a new home. These beauties by the Kentucky artisan sunhousecraft are sure to bring good luck and protection - something brooms are associated with! I keep a little one by my front door! 
More folklore includes:
🧹if you couldn’t afford a marriage in 19th century Europe you could simply “jump the broom”. It’s still said to be lucky to jump the broom while holding hands on your wedding day! 
🧹 Lay a broom over your threshold on New Year’s Day to keep evil spirits away in the year to come. 
🧹If a broom randomly falls to the floor it means company is coming. 
🧹Want your meal to be good? It’s said that placing a broom under the table while you cook will make a meal taste delicious.
🧹It’s said a broom under the bed will take away bad dreams. Adversely, a broom on the bed will leave the next occupant infertile. 
🧹Sweeping under someone’s feet is said to curse them. 
🧹	A broom, salt, and bread completes a traditional housewarming gift:
Bread – That this house may never know hunger.
Salt – That life may always have flavor.
Broom – To sweep away troubles.
