GOP Rep. Brandon Gill questioned Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson about Chicago's gift room during a congressional immigration hearing on Wednesday. In January, the mayor stated that he had never even been in the so-called “gift room,” disputing the findings of the Office of the Inspector General's report.

Johnson, along with other mayors of sanctuary cities, was questioned by the Republican-led House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform about their policies on immigration and their cities’ sanctuary status.
