For Murakami’s solo exhibition “Mononoke Kyoto” held at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, we offered a return gift of exhibition tickets that came with collectible trading cards to raise funds for the production cost. Thanks to the enthusiasm and support of Kyoto City’s Hometown Tax Donation Division, this initiative was a resounding success.

At the end of last year, Takashi Murakami was inspired by a video posted by Horiemon in which he discussed using the Hometown Tax Donation system to support a rocket launching project in Hokkaido, leading Murakami to explore its potential.

We have been providing various art merchandise as return gifts for Kyoto City's Hometown Tax Donation program in the past, but we aim to expand this collaboration by including other municipalities across Japan in the future. In this context, we heard that the fees charged by existing platforms were becoming a burden for local municipalities, which led to the launch of the “Kaikai Kiki Hometown Tax Donation” platform. By doing so, we have created a system where handling fees are kept to a minimum, allowing the donations to better benefit the participating municipalities.

Additionally, we plan to introduce exclusive return gifts available only on this platform.

カイカイキキ独自のふるさと納税プラットフォーム「カイカイキキふるさと納税」が誕生しています。

京都市京セラ美術館で開催した村上の個展「もののけ 京都」の展覧会制作費は、個展入場チケットにトレーディングカードを付けた返礼品を通して募集。京都市のふるさと納税課の心意気もあって大成功いたしました。

元々は去年の末にホリエモンさんの動画で、＜北海道でロケット事業をやっていて、そこにふるさと納税を組み込んでいてworkしている＞という投稿に村上隆が着目したことから始まったふるさと納税の取り組み。
これまで京都市の返礼品としてさまざまなアートグッズを提供してきましたが、今後さらにさまざまな自治体との取り組みも行っていきたいと考えています。そのような中で、各プラットフォームの手数料が自治体にとってはネックになっているという話もあり、立ち上げたのが「カイカイキキふるさと納税」です。自社プラットフォームで手数料を最低限に抑えることができ、その分自治体にも還元することができます。

今後、ここでしか手に入らない返礼品の提供なども行っていく予定です。
