a cute lil’ DIY Leg Warmer Tutorial

For all the girlies still loving their #legwarmers, this is one of the quickest and easiest DIYs!  So grab your scissors + and sweatshirt and let’s go! ✂️ 

I’ve been making my leg warmers like this for the last few years, and it’s so cost effective and a great way to repurpose your old sweatshirts, especially if you prefer your leg warmers to be on the longer and wider side. 

A few quick tips:
• a heavier or thicker sweatshirt will give your leg warmers added shape, which I think looks nicer once you are wearing shoes. 
• if you like your leg warmers to cover most of your shoe, use a sweatshirt with a wider arm hole (the seam where the arm of the sweatshirt meets the body of the sweatshirt), if not then look for a sweatshirt with narrower sleeves to use. 
• if the cuff or top of the leg warmer is too big, cut a small slit on the inner layer of the cuff and thread a piece of elastic through the channel of the cuff, tying it off at the desired size and tucking the ends back inside the cuff. 
• if the cuff or top of the leg warmer is too small, cut along the seam of the cuff as far down as needed. Take a piece of ribbon or a shoelace and thread it through the channel of the cuff, tying it at the back of the leg warmer. (This method can also be used if the leg warmer is too big and you want the decorative touch of a bow).
