This #MoodySpotlight has always loved public speaking. Meet Gracie Kirschner, a senior utjschool student from Atlanta, Georgia!
 
Gracie chose #TEXASMoody for its vast opportunities to explore journalism. “From student organizations like TSTV to classes like the broadcast capstone and media law, Moody offers many ways to tap into journalism. I’ve used them all to get where I am today and where I hope to go in my career.” As an out-of-state student, choosing utaustintx was a risk, but it was her best decision ever.
 
“I love the human impact aspect of being a journalist. What you say or write in the news could deeply impact someone’s opinions or thoughts.”
 
She’s put the skills she’s learned at Moody to work at FOX 5 Atlanta, covering presidential debates, rallies, breaking news and sports. Now, she’s a politics intern at KXAN, reporting from the Capitol, covering legislative sessions and writing stories for broadcast and web. She’s also an active member of Texas Student Television and Good Morning Longhorns.
 
Her favorite Moody memory was accidentally twinning with Dr. Kate while anchoring for Reporting Texas. “Every day in the broadcast capstone class was one of my best days at Moody. I love how Dr. Kate makes learning so fun!”
 
As graduation nears, Gracie is soaking up every moment with her favorite people, exploring Austin and reporting from the Capitol.
 
“Moody has given so much to me. I’ve grown as a journalist but also as a person and truth-seeker. From “Media Law” to “Food Journalism,” I’ve explored so many facets of the industry, and even considered law school because of it. Moody has something for everyone.”
