Researchers at UC San Diego have developed a biodegradable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) “living plastic” that can help reduce the plastic industry’s environmental footprint. 🌎 This durable bioplastic, used in products like footwear and memory foam, contains bacterial spores that break down the material when exposed to compost nutrients. ♻️
