Kansas lawmakers are proposing a new law that would restrict nonresident waterfowl hunters to hunting only three days a week on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.⁠

It would also raise the price of migratory waterfowl habitat stamps for both residents and nonresidents. Supporters of the proposal say that limiting nonresidents to hunting on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays will benefit resident hunters and help ease the pressure on bird populations. They point to an imbalance of nonresidents in some public hunting areas, along with what they say are changes to migratory patterns that have resulted from all this pressure.⁠
