It's Native American Heritage Month AND Captain Jocko Clark's Birthday!

The USS Yorktown's first Captain, Joseph J. "Jocko" Clark, was born on this day in 1893. He was the first recognized Native American to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy. Clark grew up in Pryor, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now Pryor Creek, Oklahoma).
